is a three day training course, sponsored by Genesi, which is covering hardware and software aspects of the MPC5200B/EFIKA with special emphasis put on MorphOS - The Lightning Operating System.

Participants will have an opportunity to get acquainted with MorphOS as well as Genesi hardware.

Experts are explaining, demonstrating and answering questions in smaller groups or even in person.

• Presentation of MorphOS- The Lightning Operating System.
• to give the idea and broaden the knowledge of PPC architecture
• to display the extraordinary image of MPC5200B/EFIKA.
• to show implementation of MPC5200B/EFIKA in multimedia.
• to give the idea of other alternative systems and hardware.
• to get an impression of existing case solutions for home entertainment.
• Demo existing software solutions which not based on main stream hard and system software.
• to show possibilities and ways to create products without being limited by preset structures.
• make people aware of the existence of Genesi and MorphOS.
• make participants to be more critic about so called standard systems and their OSes.
• make direct contact to developers and talk about ideas or even get projects started.

• Presentation of Efika hardware: small sized, low power consumption, fan less.
• Booting MPC5200B/Efika into MOS from USB key, HDD partitioning.
• MorphOS installation. Small OS size and fast installation process.
• Introducing MorphOS, a lightweight operating system with 3D based desktop, high responsiveness, low memory and CPU requirements.
• Multimedia applications: Media Center developed by Guido Mersmann , Video Streaming (EFIKA als using MPlayer as Streaming-Client ), Reggae (DigiFilter as an example of MPC5200B/EFIKA computational power).

• A competent reseller will sell hardware product. incl. EFIKA systems.
• Direct contact to experienced users, which present their systems running MorphOS.

• Basic knowledge of the PowerPC architecture is useful, but not required
• Basic interests and knowledge of alternative operating systems and hardware is useful, but not required
